Where are the British Virgin Islands located?
Situated in the Caribbean’s at the high point of the curving archipelago that swings from Trinidad to Florida, they survey strategically all of Americas and with their steady trade winds and numerous sheltered harbors become a welcome pause in the lengthy trade routes between Europe and the riches of South and Central America.
Where is Croatia located?
On the east side of Adriatic sea, facing Italy. With one of the most indented coastlines in Mediterranean, is undoubtedly the most popular tourist destination. Croatia is bursting with colors, fragrances and shapes, unforgettable in the intensity of the experience of nature. It is a region of long beaches, pine woods and the ancient towns, that testify to the rich cultural and historical heritage. The islands are all unique in their character.
Is seasickness common?
The British Virgin Islands are a sailing paradise, and therefore the perfect spot for first time yachters in the Caribbean. The BVI are a group of green, mountainous islets that spread over some 40 nautical miles (75 km). Together, they form a unique waterway in which we sail in short stages. Generally, a warm gentle breeze fills the sails as the boat glides over barely wavy waters. Similar calm sailing conditions apply for Croatia. The risk of seasickness is limited. Just in case, we recommend you pack some Gravol tablets (ginger flavoured if you wish to offset any side effects) or some Transderm V (scopolamine applied behind the ear). It is imperative that you consult your doctor or pharmacist for any side effects you may experience.
Can we travel alone?
Yes, single occupancy can be arranged. It is also possible for honeymooners to travel alone on the yacht.
Are we entitled to some beach time?
Our main priority is making sure you spend a dream vacation. Once aboard, we finalize what you want to do and draft an itinerary tailored to your preferences, including time on some spectacular beaches if you wish.
What is the currency on the B.V.I. and in Croatia?
The currency of the British Virgin Islands is the U.S. dollar. Major credit cards are accepted in most establishments. The currency of Croatia is Kuna. Euro and major credit cards are accepted in most establishments.
What weather can we expect?
In BVI near postcard-perfect weather year round. Waters are sheltered and wind conditions are stable. Sailing passages range from 3 to 25 km and navigation is generally line-of-sight as the islands are visible at all times over their 75 km. Average temperatures are 25 - 30 C (77 - 86 F). In Croatia you will find the summer temperatures ranging from 25 - 35 C (77 - 95 F) and fall temperatures from 15 - 25 C (59 - 77 F).
Is there a TV on the yacht?
No there is no TV on board. The goal of your vacation is not somebody’s adventure; it is your turn to be in the movie. This is the time, when you will experience the richness of life to the fullest and at the end; you will get a DVD full of your memories.
Do you have a CD/MP3 player on the yacht?
Yes. The player has speakers both inside and outside of the yacht. We have a variety of music on board, but you are welcome to bring your own CDs. There are also books, board games and cards for the entire family.
How can we get from the yacht to the beach?
The Blue Dream is equipped with a good-sized hard-bottom boat providing safe transfer to the beach. This boat is strong enough for water-skiing.
I am not a good swimmer. Can I sail on the yacht?
Both keen and novice swimmers will love relaxing in the calm, clear, warm waters of the Caribbean and Adriatic sea. For those who are less proficient or those who wish to simply relax and drift around, we carry a number of fun flotation aids and life jackets.
